It’s no wonder then, that fans could barely wait for the second season of the hit anime show, which premiered earlier in December.
Adapted from Koyoharu Gotouge’s manga series, season two picks up where the first left off, following the ongoing battle between teen Tanjiro Kamado and the Demon King behind his parents’ gruesome murder: Muzan Kibutsuji.
The season also sees the core protagonists travel to Yoshiwara, Japan’s red-light district, to track down a demon that has been causing chaos in the area.
Ahead of season two’s release, Fuji TV responded to concerns that the setting was inappropriate for an anime that a lot of young children are going to want to watch. “In regards to content for [Demon Slayer Season two], it was subject to the usual examination, but we intend to broadcast it without making any changes,” Yuriko Nakamura, head of programming at Fuji TV, said.
